Teacher Mini-Grants
What are they?
Each fall teachers are encouraged to fill out mini-grant applications.
The purpose of the teacher mini-grants is to provide financial support to fund enrichment programs or projects which enhance the quality of education and/or educational opportunities. The scope for mini-grants includes but is not limited to the following categories: choral and instrumental music, athletics, character ethics and personal responsibility, academic enhancement, visual and performing arts, and vocational training.
A subcommittee of the board reviews all teacher mini-grants and selects the winners based on merit and available funds.
Notificaton
Teachers are typically notified by email and handouts in their mail boxes that they can now submit mini-grants. This takes place mid-September. Mini-grants are then due back to the school administration office mid-October. Teachers must get their Principal's signature on the mini-grant showing they approve the request.
Winners are notified at the beginning of November and are requested to attend the first school board meeting of that month for the official presentation.
